Coming Together to Protect the Children of Elkhart County

Introducing Elkhart County Prevent 360

Noon – 1 p.m. April 8, 2021

Support When You Need It

We know that you are the expert on your family and our Family Resource Navigators will provide one-on-one support to assist you in navigating the many existing resources in the community to ensure that the needs you identify are being met. Family Resource Navigators can also help you to determine if another CAPS program is a good fit and assist you in the enrollment process.

Rally for Kids Virtual Video

Thank you so much to everyone who was able to virtually attend our 2021 Rally for Kids! If you were unable to join us live don’t worry—we made sure to record it for you! This year we were so lucky to be able to feature several incredible speakers, including Mayor Rod Roberson, Rebecca Shetler Fast from the Source, Lee Sones with DCS Elkhart, Stacy Pendarvis from the Monique Burr Foundation, and CAPS’ own Leah Plank and Melinda Konrath-Fielding! Each was able to share information about the collaborative efforts being taken in our community to end child abuse & neglect, and share many important resources for anyone looking for ways that they can help! It was a truly special way to kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month that you will want to be sure to watch!

Parent Cafés

Find support through one of our many support groups or Parent Cafés. Parent Cafes are safe spaces where parents and caregivers talk about the challenges and victories of raising a family. Through individual self-reflection and peer-to-peer learning, you can explore your own strengths, learn about the Protective Factors, and create strategies from your wisdom and experiences to help strengthen your family. Parent Cafés are offered monthly in both Spanish and English. A meal for you and your family is provided at the beginning. Following the meal, children leave to do fun activities with our trained staff so you can fully participate and engage in conversations with other parents.
