CAPS presents Erin Merryn, – childhood sexual abuse survivor, turned author, speaker, and child advocate – as our luncheon featured speaker at noon, Oct. 26. Sexually abused as a child, Erin made it her mission to keep children safe. Erin’s Law mandates states to teach sexual abuse prevention in schools. To date, 37 states have adopted Erin’s Law.

Held at 12 pm in the Crystal Ballroom at the Lerner Theater, this luncheon will be both informative and inspiring for our supporters! Join as President/CEO Melinda Konrath-Fielding shares what CAPS accomplished in 2021, as well as our goals for 2022.

Erin Merryn is an internationally recognized speaker inspiring millions for the past 13 years taking her as far away as Australia. She speaks from the heart sharing her life experiences of being raped and sexually abused by two people she knew. Erin takes her audience on a journey of her past and how she reclaimed her voice and is now giving a voice to millions of children. In 2008 Erin began a journey to get a law mandating children be taught personal body safety in schools. She successfully passed Erin’s Law in her home state of Illinois in 2013. She has made it her mission to get Erin’s Law passed in all 50 states.

Come join CAPS as we welcome national speaker Erin Merryn and CAPS President and CEO Melinda Konrath-Fielding.  Ticket includes admission to the event and lunch in the Crystal Ballroom. Reservations will be held at the door.
