This July Healthy Families and their clients are utilizing local public parks and enjoying “Popsicles at the Park.” This activity was designed to give families the opportunity to play and learn together through fun, games and, of course, Popsicles.
Family time in the park gives parents the time to interact with their kids on many levels. This leads to the kind of experiences that teach kids a wide variety of skills. For example, the natural social interactions that occur to help develop social skills. In addition, talking about their surroundings can help build language skills. Every new experience opens the door for more educational opportunities.
Healthy Families is a program of CAPS design to help parents of newborns. Whether visiting clients at home or providing a place for families to enjoy some time together, Healthy Families support specialists provide resources, education, support and, of course, Popsicles.
